Hospitality Study Abroad Scholarship
THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS ONLY FOR HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT STUDENTS ACCEPTED TO AN APPROVED CHAPLIN SCHOOL FACULTY-LED STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM FOR SUMMER 2025 INCLUDING: HOSPITALITY AT SEA, JAPAN, LONDON, GENOA, THAILAND, KOREA, and NORTHERN ITALY. FOR DETAILS ON THE STUDY ABROAD PROGRAMS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, VISIT http://hospitality.fiu.edu/study-abroad/. Students participating in any other study abroad programs, international exchange, or third party programs are NOT eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship Deadline: April 1, 2025
This competitive scholarship will award one (1) scholarship in the amount of up to $3,000 to cover program fees and/or travel expenses for a Summer 2025 Chaplin School faculty-led study abroad program.
Applicants for this scholarship must meet the eligibility criteria, as follows:
-Minimum 3.5 GPA at FIU, including current term grades/GPA
-Current FIU Student enrolled as a degree-seeking student in FIU’s Chaplin School for a hospitality management degree (graduate or undergraduate)
-Accepted to a Chaplin School faculty-led study abroad program; You must complete the study abroad program in its entirety
-Submission of an essay (800 words minimum) about how you expect participation in the study abroad program will benefit your hospitality & tourism management education and future career in the hospitality industry
-Letter of Recommendation from HM Faculty member (must be a current/past professor in the Chaplin School)
In compliance with applicable laws regarding financial aid eligibility, those receiving the award must have an aid-eligible immigration/residency status. International students are eligible to apply.
